Periodontitis is a severe form of gum disease and periodontics is the treatment of all forms of gum disease (known as gingivitis). Gum disease is often caused by a build up of plaque, which is why regular scaling and polishing by our hygienist is important.

We treat severe gum disease by cleaning the bacteria from the roots of the teeth - a process known as root planing. It may sometimes be necessary to carry out minor surgery.
